ISPO Needs Your Help to Change the World - Please Volunteer! The following volunteer positions are presently vacant. Please contact us at jbunzl@simpol.org if you are interested in any of these tasks or feel you could help in some way. It is in the very nature of volunteering that peoples' time can sometimes only be given sporadically or irregularly and this is understood and taken into account. Some of the tasks below are on-going whereas others are more in the nature of 'projects'. Central Lists Coordinator: adds, modifies, deletes people as required from the central ISPO listserves currently held on Yahoogroups. Central Membership Coordinator: maintains central database of all SP adopters. Adds new adopters to simpol-Announce lists on Yahoogroups. Provides monthly figures giving latest adoption figures by country and change since previous month. External Relations Coordinators: seek and set up partnership arrangements with other NGOs along the lines of our draft "SP Partnership Proposal". Coordinators would be required for this task in all countries but a "central coordinator" would be required to oversee and ensure no duplication of work. Fundraising Coordinator: seeks fundraising opportunities, raises formal applications in conjunction with ISPO management and follows up. Coordinates others involved in fund-raising activities. Targetted Fundraisers who concentrate on a particular potential funder and concentrate solely on securing their interest in, and support for, SP. National Campaign Coordinators: set up appropriate national organizations within the ISPO movement and oversee/coordinate the SP campaign in their respective country. Please contact us at jbunzl@simpol.org, tell us your country and we can then advise you the present status of the SP campaign there. Regional Campaign Coordinators: act as go-betweens between their National SP organisation and Local Campaign Coordinators. Main task is to give maximum support to Local Campaign Groups in their areas. Local Campaign Coordinators: form Local SP Campaign groups and campaign for the adoption of SP in their local parliamentary electoral area. The functions of such Local Campaign Groups need not, however, be carried out by a dedicated SP Group but could equally be performed by the local group of another sympathetic NGO who wishes to make SP part of its regular campaigning activities. National Membership Coordinators: maintain databases for each country and liaise with Central Membership Coordinator (David Smith). They also add, modify, delete people from their respective national SP listserves as and when they are set up. Listserve Liaison Volunteers: campaign for SP by joining relevant non-SP listserves and making them aware of SP. Local Campaigning Volunteers: attend meetings, demonstrations, to distribute SP flyers, etc. Public Speaking Volunteers: assist in responding to requests for talks, speeches, presentations, etc. Translation Volunteers: from English into French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and other languages.
